Seed Crop Yield Data is an essential tool for creating seed production contracts, enterprise budgets, and crop plans, but often is incomplete, not provided by the contracting party, and difficult to find. We are looking at ways to gather seed yield data directly from farmers that we can combine into a reference resource that is readily available for other seed growers.
In 2022 our Yield Data Working Group created a survey and distributed it to seed growers across the US. We didn’t get as much of a response as hoped, but are looking at ways we can modify our approach to gather more data. The project is currently on hold but we are hoping to revive it for the 2024 growing season.
